I find the flowerspikes of bromeliads and gingers to the the most amazing of them all. These are some of the more "magical" looking ones, sure to turn heads when in bloom. Can I get a verdict on the two bright pink ones? I'm not sure if they're quesnelia or billbergia.
Steve, what beautiful blooms, love them. The last photo: nice foliage too...
ReplyDeleteSorry cant help u with the names...
Have a nice weekend, Ev
Beautiful! I hope you would get a good answer/verdict reply on whether they are Quesnelia or Billbergia. I hope when my brom flowers, I could identify its ID as well. They just look so similar right? And exceptionally wonderful :-D
ReplyDeleteLove those broms! They are very electric, aren't they? My guess is that those pink ones are Billbergia pyramidalis, a common Florida passalong. Quesnelia testudo looks very similar (also common). More of a guess than a verdict.
ReplyDeleteFloridagirl is correct: The pink bromeliads are definitely Billbergia pyramidalis. You can find a Quesnelia photo on my blog here: http://growerjim.blogspot.com/2009/12/quesnelia-testudo.html
ReplyDeleteStunning broms blooming photos! Love them! Sorry, still learning the brom names...
ReplyDeleteOh, BTW, love the new background you have. Remind me a foggy morning in a forest, peaceful and fresh.
Bromeliads really do have some beautiful and exotic inflourescences, and in such gorgeous hot colors.
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful broms. Especially love the variegated stripey one in the last photo.
