Garden bloggers are a creative bunch, but now is the time to kick that creativity into the next level. In an effort to better understand my garden and myself, I've resolved to draw a plant every week and you're all invited to pick a plant, any plant, and sit down with me for a nice Sunday drawing session starting this very Sunday. Even if stick figures are your specialty, rest assured that there are plenty of branches out there begging to be rendered by a masterful stick figure artist such as yourself.
You're all already self made writers and photographers, so why not add to your repertoire of skills? Drawing is a great way to get to know your plants better, feel connected to the world at large and you might even beautify your blog a bit in the process.
Here's how to do it:
1. Just start drawing any plant you see fit, using a ballpoint pen, pencil, crayons, colored pencils, watercolors... you name it! It can be a simplistic napkin doodle that took every bit of one minute to scrawl or an ornate botanical illustration done over the course of days. It's up to you.
2. Take a photo of your drawing or scan it, and post it to your blog with a description.. Feel free to ask for feedback if you'd like. Provide a link back to The Rainforest Garden so that others may join in the doodling fun.
3. Add your link to the McLinky below and leave a comment. Even though it's supposed to take place on Sunday, you're welcome to share your post anywhere between now and the 21st. I'll add my post on Sunday though, in the interest of propriety.
That's it! Any questions?
not fair - look at the talent you start off with :)
